Terms & Conditions

A legal disclaimer

These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and any enquiry, quote request or communication submitted through this website.

By using this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

Terms & Conditions

1. Website Information

The information on this website is provided for general information only. While Fitz the Sparky aims to keep information accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that all website content is complete, current or suitable for every individual situation.

Electrical work must be assessed based on site conditions, safety requirements, property age, access, existing wiring, switchboard condition, compliance requirements and the specific scope of work required.

2. Services

Fitz the Sparky provides residential electrical services, which may include electrical repairs, maintenance, fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting, power points, outdoor lighting, EV charger preparation and other home electrical work.

Service availability may vary depending on location, scheduling, job type, safety requirements and licensing or regulatory requirements.

Submitting an enquiry through this website does not guarantee that a booking, quote or service will be accepted.

3. Quotes and Estimates

Any quote, estimate or price indication provided is based on the information available at the time.

Final pricing may change if:

  • the scope of work changes;

  • additional faults or unsafe issues are identified;

  • access is limited or different from what was described;

  • existing wiring, switchboards or equipment are non-compliant or unsafe;

  • additional materials, labour or attendance is required;

  • urgent, after-hours or emergency conditions apply.

Where practical, Fitz the Sparky will explain any changes before additional work proceeds.

4. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate information about the property, the electrical issue, access requirements and any known risks or concerns.

Customers must ensure safe and reasonable access to the work area, including access to switchboards, electrical equipment, roof spaces, garages, driveways or other relevant areas where required.

Customers should not attempt electrical work themselves. Electrical faults, exposed wiring, tripping circuits, burning smells, damaged outlets or unsafe electrical conditions should be treated seriously and assessed by a licensed electrical worker.

5. Safety and Compliance

Electrical work may be delayed, varied or declined if Fitz the Sparky identifies unsafe conditions, access limitations, compliance issues or circumstances that prevent the work from being completed safely.

Where unsafe electrical conditions are identified, priority may be given to making the area safe before further work continues.

6. Payments

Payment terms will be provided on quotes, invoices or other written communication.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due in accordance with the invoice terms issued for the work.

Late payment may result in follow-up communication, recovery action or additional costs where permitted by law.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Customers should provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule a booking.

Fitz the Sparky may need to cancel or reschedule work due to safety concerns, weather, supplier delays, emergency work, illness, access issues or circumstances outside reasonable control.

8. Website Enquiries and Response Times

Fitz the Sparky aims to respond to enquiries within a reasonable timeframe. Response times may vary depending on workload, urgency, location, job type and business hours.

For urgent electrical hazards, customers should take immediate steps to stay safe and contact emergency services or the relevant electricity network provider where appropriate.

9. Intellectual Property

All website content, branding, text, images, logos, graphics and other material on this website are owned by or licensed to Fitz the Sparky unless otherwise stated.

You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or use website content without written permission.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

This website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or services. Fitz the Sparky is not responsible for the content, security, availability or practices of third-party websites.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fitz the Sparky is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this website, reliance on website information, website errors, website downtime or third-party services.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable laws that cannot be excluded.

12. Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

If services are not provided with due care and skill, are not fit for purpose, or are not provided within a reasonable time where no time has been agreed, you may be entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law.

The remedy available will depend on the circumstances and whether the issue is major or minor.
